If your utility is not on our list, or you would like another way to share your utility usage, you can download your utility data, share your old bills, or send us the monthly totals for gas and electricity.
From your utility usage history, we collect your gas and electric usage (in therms and kWh, respectively) from the past year to conduct an energy analysis of your home. From this, we can estimate how much money you may save by electrifying your appliances, and also estimate how much electricity you'll use after moving away from gas. With these other options below, we'll happily enter in your past utility usage to complete your home profile, and to really tailor your home evaluation to you.
NOTE: Without your actual utility usage history, we will still complete your home assessment with estimates for your energy use based on similar homes in your area.
Options for sharing your utility usage history:
Download your utility history:
If possible, go to your utility's website and download a csv file of your utility usage from the past year. Sometimes it downloads as a zip file, separating gas from electric - you'll see it has the meter number, when the reading was taken, your usage, and how much you paid. Please attach these files to an email and send it to HelpUsQuit@QuitCarbon.com - or attach it in response to an email you have received from us!
If downloading the entire year is impossible, you may be able to download individual months of utility bills online. If this is the case, please download as many as you can from the past year, and send them to HelpUsQuit@QuitCarbon.com - we'll enter this in to your home profile!
Take photos of your past bills:
Snap photos of your past utility bills showing your gas and electric usage for the month - preferably winter utility bills, but any will do! If not the full year, we'll estimate the rest of the year based on similar homes in your area. Please note that some paper / electronic bills have a bar graph or table of your past year of usage - this is super helpful as well! Attach the pictures in an email to HelpUsQuit@QuitCarbon.com.
